6.8K Resistors

A 6.8 kilo-ohm carbon film resistor in the standard quarter-watt through-hole package used throughout hobby and prototype electronics. A general purpose value used in biasing and divider networks. Value is marked with the standard four-band colour code. Remember the power rating when choosing: a quarter-watt part dissipating more than that will discolour, drift in value and eventually fail, so check current and voltage across the resistor in higher power circuits. Standard 1/4W package fits breadboards and stripboard; 5% tolerance is adequate for most digital and hobby circuits; Colour-coded bands for quick identification; Long leads allow easy forming and mounting
