LCD 1602

The classic two-line, sixteen-character text display found in countless instruments and projects. It shows text and numbers clearly with a backlight, costs very little and is supported by the LiquidCrystal library built into the Arduino IDE. The one drawback is wiring: the parallel interface needs six or more Arduino pins plus a contrast potentiometer. If pins are tight, the I2C version of this same display needs only two.
