MAX485 TTL to RS485
TTL to RS485 converter for long-distance industrial serial communication
Converts a microcontroller's TTL serial to RS485, the differential standard used throughout industrial installations. Where plain TTL serial fails after a couple of metres, RS485 runs reliably over a thousand metres of twisted pair and rejects the electrical noise around motors and drives. It also supports multi-drop, so many devices share one pair of wires. This is the physical layer beneath Modbus RTU, which is how you talk to PLCs, VFDs and industrial sensors. Reliable serial over distances up to 1200 m; Differential signalling rejects industrial noise; Multi-drop supports many devices on one pair; The physical layer for Modbus RTU
