A small OLED with genuinely excellent contrast, because each pixel emits its own light rather than being backlit — black areas are truly off, so text stays crisp at any angle and in any lighting. At 128 by 64 pixels it shows graphics, icons and several lines of text, far more capable than a character LCD of similar size. Uses only two I2C pins and no backlight power. Note that OLEDs can retain a static image over very long periods, so vary the display if it runs continuously for months.
