RS485 Shield

Converts an Arduino's serial port to RS485, the differential standard used across industrial installations. Where plain TTL serial fails after a couple of metres, RS485 runs reliably over a thousand metres of twisted pair and shrugs off the electrical noise around motors and drives. It also supports multi-drop, so many devices share one pair of wires. This is the physical layer beneath Modbus RTU, making it the natural way to talk to PLCs, VFDs and industrial sensors.
