Incremental optical rotary encoder, 800 PPR, 6 mm shaft, NPN open collector
An industrial incremental encoder that reports shaft rotation as electrical pulses, for position feedback, speed measurement and length counting on machinery. At 800 pulses per revolution it resolves roughly 0.45 degrees per pulse in single-edge counting, or four times finer if you decode all quadrature edges. Higher resolution for applications needing finer positional feedback, such as precision indexing and closed-loop motion control. The NPN open collector output needs a pull-up resistor to your logic supply, and because it is incremental rather than absolute, position is lost at power-off and must be re-referenced against a home switch.
