10R Resistors

A 10 ohm carbon film resistor in the standard quarter-watt through-hole package used throughout hobby and prototype electronics. Low values like this are used for current sensing, emitter degeneration and damping resistors in series with crystal or gate drive lines. Value is marked with the standard four-band colour code. Remember the power rating when choosing: a quarter-watt part dissipating more than that will discolour, drift in value and eventually fail, so check current and voltage across the resistor in higher power circuits.
