510R Resistors

A 510 ohm carbon film resistor in the standard quarter-watt through-hole package used throughout hobby and prototype electronics. Used for LED current limiting and general series resistance where a value between 470R and 680R is specified. Value is marked with the standard four-band colour code. Remember the power rating when choosing: a quarter-watt part dissipating more than that will discolour, drift in value and eventually fail, so check current and voltage across the resistor in higher power circuits.
