Capacitor Electrolytic 22uF 50V

A 22uF aluminium electrolytic capacitor rated at 50V, used for power supply smoothing, decoupling and coupling in audio and analogue circuits. Electrolytics give far more capacitance per unit cost and size than ceramic or film types, which is why they dominate power supply work. Two things matter in use: this is a polarised part and connecting it backwards will make it vent or burst, and the voltage rating must comfortably exceed the actual circuit voltage - derating to around two thirds of the rating substantially extends its life.
