GAS-MQ2 Sensor
MQ-2 gas sensor for LPG, propane, methane, hydrogen and smoke
A combustible gas and smoke sensor with both analogue and digital outputs, widely used for kitchen safety alarms and leak detection. It responds to a group of gases rather than identifying one specifically, so treat it as an alarm that says something combustible is present, not as an instrument that names the gas. Two practical requirements: it needs one to two minutes of warm-up from cold before readings settle, and its heater draws around 150 mA continuously, which rules out small battery operation. Detects LPG, propane, methane, hydrogen and smoke; Analogue output plus adjustable digital threshold; Fast response suits safety alarm applications; Long sensor life under normal conditions
