Infrared Pin Sensor

A compact infrared sensing element in a small pin package, for building short-range presence and reflection detection into a tight space where a full module will not fit. Used in line followers, edge detection on small robots, and object detection in compact assemblies. As a discrete element it needs external current limiting and, usually, a comparator or analogue read on the Arduino side. Very small footprint for tight assemblies; Suits line following and edge detection; Infrared output invisible to the eye; Low cost for multi-sensor arrays
