USBASP AVR

An in-system programmer that talks directly to an AVR chip's programming pins, bypassing the bootloader entirely. Two jobs make it essential rather than optional: burning a fresh bootloader onto a blank ATmega chip so it can be used as an Arduino, and recovering a board whose bootloader has been corrupted and no longer accepts uploads over USB. It also frees the flash space the bootloader would occupy and programmes bare chips on a breadboard.
