Detects the pulse in a fingertip or earlobe optically, producing a signal that rises and falls with each heartbeat for an Arduino to count into beats per minute. Suited to fitness prototypes, wearable projects and teaching how biosignals are captured and filtered. Readings are sensitive to movement and finger pressure, so steady contact matters.
