Rain Detection Sensor

A plated collector board detects water droplets landing on it by the change in conductivity between its interlaced tracks, with a separate comparator board giving analogue and digital outputs. Used for automatic window closing, retractable awnings, weather stations and irrigation systems that skip watering when it rains. Mount the plate at an angle so it drains and dries between showers, and expect the exposed tracks to corrode over long outdoor exposure.
