Vibration Sensor

Detects physical vibration or shaking through a spring or piezo element and outputs a digital pulse. Used for tamper alarms, impact detection, shake-to-wake interfaces and machinery monitoring. Sensitivity is adjustable on the onboard potentiometer, though it reports that vibration occurred rather than measuring its magnitude — for real vibration analysis you need an accelerometer such as the MPU6050.
