Motor Shield
L293D motor shield, drives 4 DC motors or 2 steppers plus 2 servos
A classic motor driver shield for small robots. Two L293D H-bridge chips plus a shift register let it run four DC motors with independent speed and direction, or two stepper motors, plus two hobby servos on dedicated headers. Best suited to small geared motors and robot car kits. Note the L293D is an older bipolar driver: it drops roughly 2V across itself and gets warm under load, so a 6V supply delivers around 4V to the motors. For high-current or efficiency-critical builds, a MOSFET driver such as the L298N or TB6612 is the better choice. Four DC motors or two steppers from one shield; Two extra servo headers included; Independent speed and direction control per motor; Separate motor power terminal keeps noise off the Arduino
